Carnegie Picture Lab is dedicated to growing and maintaining strong partnerships between school districts, educators, parents, artists, volunteers and the community. We bring leadership to this process with the goals of presenting a robust arts education curriculum in schools, expanding opportunities for after-school and summer programming, and increasing impact through additional community-based art experiences.

Walla Walla Arts Collaborative

In 2018, a group of nonprofit arts organizations began talking about many of the challenges they face, particularly adequate and affordable office space, places for meetings and trainings, and space for storage.  Together, these organizations applied to the Sherwood Trust for a planning grant designed to scope out the idea and bring in outside expertise.

The organizations - now called the Walla Walla Arts Collaborative - were awarded a Sherwood Trust Impact Grant in 2018 to fund an initial feasibility study.  In 2019, the Sherwood Trust awarded the Collaborative another Impact Grant to take action on the results of the feasibility study and move forward with the idea of creating a shared space for the arts in Walla Walla. 

The Collaborative is currently going through an iterative process, guided by the Nonprofit Centers Network, to determine how big this space might be, who will call it home, and much more.

The organizations currently working on this shared space project are:  Carnegie Picture Lab, ArtWalla, Walla Walla Symphony, Walla Walla Chamber Music Festival, Walla Walla Choral Society, Walla Walla Valley Bands, Shakespeare Walla Walla and the Piano Group.
