WHY THE ARTS?

The big question in education today is "why are the arts important?".

Many people intrinsically understand the importance of art education, but few have been able to articulate it with the clarity and precision of the late Dr. Elliot Eisner, a high school art teacher turned Professor of Art Education at Stanford University. He authored The Arts and the Creation of Mind in 2002, and from it came the 10 Lessons that Art Teach.
