Romare Bearden

Romare Bearden is a 20th Century African-American artist, writer and jazz musician. Bearden said:

“Memory embellishes Life. Forgetfulness makes it possible.”

Growing up in the Harlem Renaissance during the 1920’s Romare spent the later part of his career sorting through his rich history to create collage with the colors, influences and visual sounds
of a full life.
